There’s nothing quite like a Gorillaz show. Damon Albarn’s virtual band, the one with the cartoon members and very real musical genius, is heading to Dublin’s 3Arena, and it’s going to be massive.
What to Expect
This isn’t your standard gig. Gorillaz shows are full-blown productions: think huge screens, animated visuals synced to live music, and a rotating cast of collaborators joining Albarn on stage. You’ll hear the classics like Feel Good Inc., Clint Eastwood, and DARE, mixed in with newer material. The live band is tight, the energy is electric, and the whole thing feels like stepping inside one of Jamie Hewlett’s comic panels. Whether you’ve been a fan since their debut or you discovered them through a playlist last year, you’re in for a treat.
Good to Know
Tickets start from €55, so grab yours early, as Gorillaz shows in Dublin don’t hang around. This is a standing and seated event. Doors open at 6:30pm with the main act expected on stage around 8:30pm. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. There’s no support act announced at the time of writing, but keep an eye on Ticketmaster and MCD’s socials for updates.
The 3Arena has a strict bag policy: small bags only, no backpacks. There are cloakroom facilities available on the night but they fill up fast, so travel light if you can.
Getting There
3Arena sits right on the Docklands, and the Luas Red Line drops you at The Point stop, literally a two-minute walk from the doors. Dublin Bus routes 151 and 53 also serve the area. If you’re driving, there’s parking at the Point Village car park, but it fills up quickly on gig nights, so public transport is your best bet. The DART to Connolly Station is another solid option, with a 15-minute walk along the quays to the venue.
