Singular Artists
If you know Savages, you know Jehnny Beth. The French-born singer fronted one of the most ferocious post-punk bands of the 2010s, and her solo work is just as compelling. She’s playing the Cellar at The Workman’s Club, which is about as good as it gets for this kind of show.
What to Expect
Beth’s live presence is magnetic. She commands a room like few others can - intense, physical, and completely uncompromising. Her solo material draws from the same well as Savages but pushes into darker, more electronic territory. Tracks like Flower and I’m the Man hit differently in a small basement venue with the bass rattling through the floor.
The Workman’s Club Cellar is the perfect setting. It’s sweaty, it’s loud, and it puts you right in the middle of the action. This is the kind of gig people talk about for years afterwards. If you’re into post-punk, art rock, or just brilliant live performance, don’t miss this.
