Itinerary

  1. Meeting point is Swords Castle, learn from a local historian about this mediaeval castle built as an Archbishop’s Palace circa 1200 AD by the Anglo Normans, then it’s ‘walk the hallowed turf’ with your cute where tour guide, O Donghaile from The Jungle, and take in the Round Tower where Brian Ború was waked after his army’s triumphant victory over the Vikings in the Battle of Clontarf 1014 AD, explore the monastic settlement and see the miraculous healing well blessed by St. Colmcille around which the magical town of Swords was founded. Meeting point: Your Guide, Ó’Donghaile from The Jungle, will greet you at the entrance to Swords Castle. Look for the ‘Cute Hoor Tours’ sign or umbrella (this is rainy Ireland afterall :-)
