8 hours

About This Tour

Your day starts with a pickup from your hotel before you are taken on a short sightseeing tour of Dublin City and continue towards the coastal village of Howth. On the drive up to the summit of Howth, you will be rewarded with amazing views of Dublin Bay and the Irish coastline. You will have free time to explore the cliffs of Howth that have easy walking trails for you to enjoy. The tour will continue into Howth village, and your guide will take you on a leisurely walking tour and explain the history of this historic harbor. Lunch can be taken in one of the many seafood restaurants, or enjoy your lunch in a traditional Irish pub. In the afternoon, the tour will continue on the coastal road towards the village of Malahide, stopping off at Portmarnock strand, where you can enjoy a stroll on the golden sandy beach. Malahide village is an upmarket suburb that has lots of independent shops and stores with a private marina for pleasure boats. The jewel of the crown for Malahide is the 800-year-old medieval castle that is located in the nearby parkland. The medieval castle is open for public guided tours daily and includes a visit to the walled gardens and the butterfly museum. Within the parkland is a large outdoor playground that is suitable for all children’s age groups. On the return journey to Dublin, your guide will drive you through many of the suburbs that Dubliners call home. You will get to view many of the different types of housing architecture, from Georgian to Victorian to more modern designs.
