Four days, two trains, and some of the most jaw-dropping coastline in Europe. This tour packs in the highlights of Ireland’s south and west - from kissing the Blarney Stone to standing at the edge of the Cliffs of Moher - with three nights in Killarney as your base.
You start with an early train from Dublin to Cork, where Blarney Castle and the historic port town of Cobh fill the first day. Then it is three nights in Killarney, perfectly positioned for the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula. The Ring of Kerry day is a greatest-hits reel of Irish scenery: mountain passes, Atlantic views, Carrauntoohil (Ireland’s highest peak), and the famous Lakes of Killarney. The Dingle Peninsula, made legendary by the film Ryan’s Daughter, delivers more rugged coastal drama with fewer crowds.
The final day heads north to the Cliffs of Moher via Bunratty Castle and Limerick, before a scenic drive along Galway Bay and an evening train back to Dublin. The combination of rail and coach travel means you see the landscape from every angle, and three nights in one place means you are not living out of a suitcase.
