About This Tour

Our tour starts with a visit Hill of Slane, ruins full of mystery, history and myth. Quick drive to Monasterboice High Cross and Rounder tower. These are the remains of an early Christian monastic settlement in the north of Drogheda. Our last visit to this area will be the famous Old Mellifont Abbey – first monastery in Ireland, dating from 1142. Listen with attention to your guide, you will found out an amazing history about “ Conspiracy of Mellifont” We drive back to Dublin to visit our last attraction: Pearse Lyons Distillery – a family-owned distillery (Tuesday this site is close) Pearse Lyons got a great location in a former St. James Church in the heart of Dublin´s Liberties . Itinerary

1. Ruins full of mystery, history and myth. Just listen carefully to your guide and enjoy the surrounding landscape and the great views of the countryside. (30 min)
2. These are the remains of an early Christian monastic settlement in the north of Drogheda. These ruins are a National monument of Ireland and give their name to the local village. (30 min)
3. Pearse Lyons got a great location in a former St. James Church in the heart of Dublin´s Liberties. Enjoy your tasting and tour around to this emblematic place (60 min)
4. Famous Old Mellifont Abbey – first monastery in Ireland, dating from 1142, which has several extraordinary architectural features. It is very famous for its two-starey octagonal lavabo. Listen with attention to your guide, you will found out an amazing history about “ Conspiracy of Mellifont” (30 min)
