About This Tour
Barry, your tour guide for all the tours, is a native of the City of Dublin and a local guide with great knowledge and interest in the history, architecture, and cultural evolution of Dublin.
The number of participants is kept to no more than fifteen, thereby ensuring that those who undergo any of the tours will have an intimate insight into the city.
Each tour lasts no longer than two hours and forty minutes, which enables visitors to get a unique insight into the highlights of Dublin and saves precious time for the visitor.
With his vast knowledge of Dublin, Barry is more than happy to provide additional information on entertainment, places to eat and drink, and other highlights of the city, saving both time and money.

- Your guide on both the Viking/Medieval and Famine Tours will walk you through the grounds of Dublin Castle, providing insights into its history, architecture, and culture. (20 min)
- Your guide on the Viking/Medieval Tour will take you through the grounds and church dedicated to St. Audeon, the only remaining medieval church operating in Dublin. (10 min)
- Your guide on the Viking Medieval Tour will bring you to the last remaining gate of the City Wall, dating back to 1240 AD, and the passageway into the Old Medieval City, aptly named “The Stairway to Heaven.” (5 min)
- Your guide on The Famine Tour will bring you to the Old Irish Parliament, built in the early eighteenth century and known locally as Grattan’s Parliament, outlining its history and architecture and how its demise at the start of the nineteenth century was one of the underlying causes of the most severe impact of the Great Famine. (5 min)
- Your journey on both the Famine and Revolutionary Tours will pass by the Custom House situated along Dublin’s River Liffey probably the most striking example of Georgian architecture in Dublin. (pass by)
- Your guide on the Georgian Tour will walk you through the grounds of Trinity College outlining the History of Ireland’s oldest University dating back over four hundred and thirty years. (pass by)
- Your guide will bring you to Leinster House a building dating back to the 1740s and the location of Ireland’s National Parliament The Dail. You will learn about the history and architecture of the building and how it influenced the building of Dublin’s Georgian Southside. (pass by)
- Your Guide will walk you through Merrion Square the finest example of a Georgian Square in Dublin with its classic Jardin Anglaise, visiting the Monument of novelist and playwright Oscar Wilde described as the greatest satirist of the English language in the nineteenth century. (20 min)
- Your guide on the Revolutionary Tour will walk you along Dublin’s main thoroughfare O Connell Street incorporating The General Post Office G.P.O. the last of the great Georgian Buildings of Dublin and the Headquarters of the 1916 Rebellion. (pass by)
- On the Revolutionary Tour you will visit the Garden of Remembrance where the Irish Volunteers were held overnight after surrendering to the British Forces. You will also pass the Hugh Lane Art Gallery on Dublin’s Parnell Square housing some fine examples of Impressionist and Early Twentieth Century Art. (10 min)
- Your guide on the Revolutionary Tour will bring you along Dublin’s North Great Georges Street one of the finest examples of Georgian Dublin where you will hear about the living conditions in what was then known as the Tenements during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. You will pass the James Joyce Centre which celebrates the Author James Joyce and his iconic novel Ulysses which describes a day in Dublin and is reputed to be the Birth of the Modern Novel. (pass by)
Meeting point: Meeting location for the Revolutionary Tour, which takes place every Thursday at 10a.m. Participants meet at the Spire Monument, which is located on the median of O’Connell Street opposite the General Post Office, G.P.O.
