  4. He was an Irish physician, journalist, and politician who made a huge difference in Dublin’s history. The statue was erected in eighteen seventy-nine, just a few years after his passing. (5 min)
  5. His efforts of fighting for Ireland’s Catholic majority led to the Catholic Emancipation Act of eighteen twenty-nine, a major win for religious freedom. (5 min)
  6. The Palace Bar, a Victorian pub, has been a Dublin gem since eighteen twenty-three. Over the years, it has become a beloved spot for writers, journalists, and intellectuals.
