#WeTouchGrass presents: DUBLIN Anime Rave

WeTouchGrass puts on anime raves across Europe, and the Dublin edition lands at The Sound House on Eden Quay for a Saturday night from 11pm. The concept combines electronic dance music with anime aesthetics: visuals, costumes, and a crowd that’s enthusiastic about both the music and the culture it’s drawn from.

Anime raves have grown significantly as a format in recent years, fuelled by the expanding overlap between anime fandom and club culture. The WeTouchGrass nights have built a reputation for taking both sides of that combination seriously: the music is actual rave music, not background, and the anime element is genuine rather than decorative.

What to expect

11pm Saturday at The Sound House, 28 Eden Quay, Dublin 1. Cosplay is encouraged but not required. Expect electronic music, anime visuals, and a crowd that’s decidedly committed to having a good time.

The Sound House is a music venue on the north quays, right on the Liffey. It’s a good size for this kind of night: large enough for a proper crowd, not so big that the energy gets lost.

Getting there

Eden Quay is central Dublin, walkable from O’Connell Street and close to multiple bus stops. Late buses serve the quays. Tickets on Eventbrite.
