Immersive Van Gogh light projections in a darkened exhibition space

You’ve probably seen the photos: massive projections of Van Gogh’s paintings swirling across floors and walls, starry nights wrapping around entire rooms. But the After Dark sessions at Dream Point Dublin take the whole thing up a notch.

What to Expect

Friday evenings transform the immersive Van Gogh experience into something more atmospheric and grown-up. The lights go lower, the ambient soundtrack shifts, and you can explore the exhibition with a drink in hand. Think of it as part art gallery, part sensory experience, part Friday night out that’s a bit different from the usual. The projections cycle through Van Gogh’s most iconic works, including Starry Night, Sunflowers, and Café Terrace at Night, displayed at enormous scale across the walls, ceiling, and floor. It’s genuinely impressive, even if you’ve seen it during the day.

The After Dark sessions tend to draw a slightly older, more relaxed crowd. There’s space to sit, take it in, and just let the visuals wash over you. It’s surprisingly meditative for a Friday evening in the Docklands.

Good to Know

Tickets start from €25 and it’s a timed entry system, so you’ll pick a slot when you book. Sessions run from 6pm to 10pm on Fridays, with last entry typically at 9pm. Give yourself at least 45 minutes to an hour to properly experience the exhibition. A bar operates on-site during the After Dark sessions, serving wine, beer, and cocktails.

It’s worth booking ahead, as Friday evening slots are popular, especially with groups. Wear comfortable shoes; you’ll be walking and standing on the projection floor.
