There is something special about hearing film music performed live by a full orchestra. Stripped of the screen, the music reveals its own architecture, and the RTE Concert Orchestra bring the precision and warmth needed to do these scores justice.
What to Expect
The programme spans decades of cinema, from the sweeping themes of John Williams to the pulsing intensity of Hans Zimmer, with stops at Ennio Morricone, Howard Shore, and more. The NCH’s main auditorium has the acoustic depth to let an orchestra of this calibre fill the room properly.
Good to Know
- Running time approximately 2 hours with interval
- The NCH bar opens before the show and during the interval
- These shows tend to sell well - book in advance
- Dress is smart casual, no formal dress code
Getting There
The National Concert Hall is on Earlsfort Terrace, beside the Iveagh Gardens. St Stephen’s Green Luas stop is a five-minute walk away.
