Peter Kay doesn’t just do stand-up. He does stand-up in arenas, and somehow makes 13,000 people feel like they’re sitting in his living room. He’s heading to Dublin’s 3Arena for multiple nights, and tickets are going to fly.
What to Expect
If you’ve seen Peter Kay before, you know the drill: razor-sharp observational comedy about the everyday things we all recognise but never think to laugh about, until he points them out. Biscuit tins, car park etiquette, mispronouncing words your entire life. The man finds gold in the mundane. His shows are famously long (in the best way), often running well over two hours, and he’s the kind of performer who feeds off a crowd. Dublin audiences are going to eat this up.
This is his first proper tour in years, and the demand across the UK and Ireland has been staggering. The fact that he’s doing three nights here tells you everything about his pull.
Good to Know
Tickets start from €50. These shows have been selling out everywhere he goes, so if you can still get them, don’t wait. The 3Arena is a seated setup for comedy, with views generally good from most sections, though the closer you are, the better the experience. Doors open at 7pm. There’s no support act; Kay tends to just walk out and get straight into it.
No phones policy is likely to be enforced. Peter Kay’s shows are notoriously strict on recording. Leave the phone in your pocket and just enjoy it.
Getting There
The 3Arena is on North Wall Quay in the Docklands. The Luas Red Line to The Point is your easiest option, and it drops you right at the door. Post-show, the Luas can get packed, so give yourself a few minutes or consider walking to Connolly Station (about 15 minutes along the quays) for DART or mainline rail connections. Dublin Bus routes 151 and 53 serve the area. If you’re driving, Point Village car park is adjacent, but public transport really is the smarter move on gig nights.
