A one-day in-person research seminar at O’Reilly Hall, UCD, focused on the practical challenge of recruiting and retaining participants in clinical trials. Recruitment failure is one of the most common reasons trials don’t deliver on their original objectives: studies that can’t recruit to target, or that retain too few participants to generate useful data, waste significant resources and delay access to potentially beneficial treatments.
The seminar covers strategies for improving recruitment at the design stage, evidence-based approaches to retaining participants once enrolled, and the regulatory and ethical dimensions of recruitment practice.
What to expect
9am Tuesday at O’Reilly Hall on the UCD Belfield campus. The in-person format supports the kind of discussion and case sharing that’s harder to replicate in an online seminar. This is aimed at clinical trial staff, research nurses, principal investigators, and clinical research coordinators working in Ireland’s hospital and academic research network.
Check the Eventbrite page for the full programme, any CPD accreditation details, and whether lunch is included in the day.
Getting there
O’Reilly Hall is on the main UCD Belfield campus in south Dublin. The 17 and 142 bus routes serve UCD directly. The campus has car parking. Tickets on Eventbrite.
