National Concert Hall
The National Concert Hall’s World Music Series is one of the best-curated music programmes in Dublin. Each season brings a carefully selected lineup of international artists spanning traditions from West Africa to South America, the Middle East to Southeast Asia.
What to Expect
The series runs across multiple evenings from April to June, with each concert featuring a different artist or ensemble. The NCH’s John Field Room and main auditorium provide world-class acoustics for music that deserves to be heard properly.
Past seasons have featured artists from the Malian kora tradition, Portuguese fado, Indian classical, Cuban son, and Turkish folk. The programming consistently finds artists who are masters of their form.
Good to Know
- Individual concerts can be booked separately
- The John Field Room is intimate (up to 250 seats) while the main auditorium holds 1,200
- Pre-concert talks often accompany performances
- The NCH bar is a good spot to arrive early and settle in
Getting There
The National Concert Hall is on Earlsfort Terrace, beside the Iveagh Gardens. A five-minute walk from St Stephen’s Green Luas stop. Dublin Bus routes along the Green corridor all stop within walking distance.
