Exhibition hall with education stands and visitors at the RDS

Whether you’re a Leaving Cert student trying to figure out your next move, a teacher looking for CPD opportunities, or a parent trying to help without hovering, the National Education Show has something for everyone, and it won’t cost you a cent.

What to Expect

The RDS Industries Hall fills up with exhibitors from across the education spectrum: universities, institutes of technology, PLC colleges, apprenticeship providers, and private training organisations. There are dedicated talk stages running throughout both days, covering everything from CAO points strategy to alternative routes into careers, mature student entry, and postgraduate options. Workshops give you a chance to get hands-on, including CV clinics, interview prep, and subject-specific taster sessions.

For teachers, there are CPD-accredited talks and a dedicated educators’ zone with resources and networking opportunities. It’s one of the few events where you can get a proper overview of what’s available across the entire Irish education landscape in a single visit.

Good to Know

Entry is completely free. No tickets, no registration required. Just show up. The show runs over two days (Friday and Saturday), and both days tend to get busy around midday, so arriving in the morning gives you more breathing room. Bring a bag for the inevitable stack of prospectuses and brochures you’ll collect.

If you’re a student, come with questions. The exhibitors are there to help, and you’ll get much more out of it than just picking up leaflets. Write down a shortlist of colleges or courses you’re curious about before you arrive.

Getting There

The RDS in Ballsbridge is easy to reach by public transport. The DART to Sandymount or Lansdowne Road station puts you within walking distance. Dublin Bus routes 4, 7, and 18 pass right by. From the city centre, it’s about a 25-minute walk along the Grand Canal, a nice route if the weather’s cooperating. The RDS has its own car park, but spaces can fill up, particularly on the Saturday. Cycling is a great option too, with bike parking available at the venue.
