What to Expect
The Marlay Park Food and Farmers Market takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm in the grounds of the historic Marlay House. Set within a 247-acre park in Rathfarnham, this is one of the most picturesque market settings in Dublin, with the 18th-century house as a backdrop and acres of parkland surrounding the stalls.
The market is part of the DLR CoCo Markets network, operated by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Stalls offer a wide range of artisan and local produce including fresh baked goods, seasonal vegetables, hot food, handmade crafts and artwork. There is always a vibrant mix of regulars and new producers, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it a perfect weekend outing.
After browsing the stalls, the park itself offers walking and cycling trails, a children’s playground, a par-3 golf course, cricket ground, and tennis courts. The combination of market, parkland and coffee makes for one of the best free outings in south Dublin.
