Clondalkin Library runs a zine-making workshop for young people aged 11 to 15, and it’s exactly what it sounds like: cut, paste, photocopy, and make something you can hold in your hand and share with other people.
Zines are self-published mini-magazines with roots in punk culture, sci-fi fandom, and DIY creativity. They’ve had a real revival in recent years as a reaction against purely digital self-expression. There’s something satisfying about making a physical thing, especially for a generation that mostly creates and consumes content on screens.
No experience or materials needed. The workshop will provide everything and walk participants through the process.
What to expect
2pm on a Thursday during Easter school holidays. The workshop is designed for 11 to 15-year-olds and runs as a structured session with guidance throughout. Participants take their finished zine home at the end.
This is a Clondalkin Library community event, which means it’s local, well-organised, and worth booking early as spaces are limited.
