What to Expect

Jobs Expo is one of the most straightforward events in Dublin’s calendar: hundreds of employers, thousands of job seekers, one large hall, and four hours to make something happen. The RDS Main Hall is the right venue for this kind of event, with enough space that you can take your time working through the stands without the crushing pressure of some career fairs.

The expo covers a broad range of sectors, typically including tech, finance, healthcare, retail, hospitality, construction, public sector and professional services. The employers present are actively hiring rather than just collecting CVs, which makes the conversations more useful than networking events where no-one is actually recruiting.

Bring physical copies of your CV, dress professionally, and do some research in advance on which employers you most want to speak to. The Jobs Expo website publishes the exhibitor list before the day so you can plan a route through the stands. The event runs for five hours and the morning slot is usually quieter.

Getting There

The RDS is on Merrion Road in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. The DART stops at Sandymount, a 10-minute walk. Dublin Bus routes 4, 7, 8 and 18 stop directly outside the RDS. The Luas stops at Beechwood (Green Line), about 20 minutes on foot or a short taxi ride. Street parking and car parks are available in the Ballsbridge area.
