What to Expect
Ireland Women face Poland at the Aviva Stadium in a 2027 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture. The squad has been building consistently over recent campaigns and home qualifiers at the Aviva have become genuine events, with crowds that get behind the team properly.
Poland arrive as a competitive side in UEFA qualifying, so there is nothing straightforward about this. The result matters in the context of the qualifying campaign, which makes for a more engaged atmosphere than a friendly tends to produce.
Saturday afternoon kick-offs at the Aviva work well for families. The stadium is accessible, the concourse opens early, and the atmosphere before a home international builds nicely from around an hour before kick-off.
Good to Know
- Kick-off 3pm Saturday 18 April
- Tickets via Ticketmaster IE / FAI website
- Aviva Stadium is cashless at concessions
- Family-friendly fixture; under-16s often at reduced prices
- Arrive 45 minutes before kick-off for best experience
Getting There
Lansdowne Road DART station is directly adjacent to the stadium and is by far the easiest way to arrive. The DART runs frequently from Connolly and Pearse stations in the city centre, taking around 10-12 minutes. Dublin Bus routes 4, 7, and 18 also serve the area. Parking around the stadium is limited on match days; the DART is genuinely faster and less stressful.
