What to Expect
This one is different. An Interactive Murder Trial puts the audience in the position of the jury, watching a live case play out in front of you before making up your own mind about what happened. A wealthy landlord is dead and a troubled tenant is on trial. The performers play barristers, witnesses, and defendants, presenting evidence and cross-examining in real time.
The format works because it’s committed. The actors don’t break character, the arguments are genuinely structured as legal cases, and the writing gives both sides enough to make the verdict genuinely uncertain. You spend the evening reading people, weighing testimony, and by the end you have an opinion about what happened that feels earned.
Vicar Street in the Liberties has a warm, slightly unusual atmosphere for this kind of show, it’s a music venue that becomes a courtroom for the night. The standing and seated layout means everyone gets reasonably close to the action. Good for a date night, a group of friends, or anyone who likes puzzles with a theatrical wrapper.
