Dublin’s Halloween Festival is one of the biggest in Europe, and with good reason - Halloween originated in Ireland. Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival that became Halloween, started right here, and Dublin celebrates it properly with a week-long programme of events culminating in a spectacular city centre parade.

What to Expect

The centrepiece is the Halloween parade through Dublin’s city centre, featuring elaborate floats, fire performers, giant puppets, and thousands of costumed participants. The parade route typically runs from Parnell Square to the Dame Street area, with live music and street entertainment along the way. During the week, events include ghost tours, horror film screenings, family activities, light installations, and themed nights at venues across the city.
