Funderland at the RDS 2026
Funderland has been a Dublin institution for decades. Every Christmas and New Year, the massive indoor funfair sets up at the RDS in Ballsbridge, bringing roller coasters, dodgems, ghost trains, waltzers, and carnival games under one roof.
What to Expect
The funfair features rides for all ages, from gentle merry-go-rounds for small children to white-knuckle roller coasters and spinning rides for teenagers and adults. There’s also a selection of carnival games, food stalls, and novelty vendors. It’s loud, bright, and chaotic in the best possible way. The indoor setting means weather is never a problem.
Good to Know
- Entry fee is small but rides are pay-per-go (tokens)
- Wristband deals available for unlimited rides on some days
- Can get very crowded during the Christmas holidays - weekday mornings are quieter
- Suitable for all ages but the big rides have height restrictions
- Food options inside but limited and expensive - eat before you go
Getting There
The RDS is on Anglesea Road in Ballsbridge. The DART to Sandymount station is a 10-minute walk. Dublin Bus routes 4, 7, 7A, and 18 serve the area. Limited parking available.
