What to Expect
Francis Rossi has been the driving force behind Status Quo for more than fifty years, and this solo show lets him do things differently. “Songs from the Status Quo Songbook” is an intimate evening where he plays through the hits, shares the stories behind them, and gives audiences a perspective on the catalogue that the full band format never quite allows.
Expect the full run of Quo classics alongside material from his solo work. This is someone who has played these songs thousands of times but still clearly loves them. The Ambassador is a good room for a show like this: standing downstairs with a balcony above, good sightlines throughout, and it holds around 1,500 which means there is no bad seat in the house.
For Status Quo fans this is a fairly rare opportunity. Rossi does not tour solo that often, and these shows tend to sell out without much fuss.
Good to Know
- Show starts 7:30pm; arrive from 7pm to get settled
- Standing floor with seated balcony available
- Over 18s strongly advised given the venue setup
- Tickets available via Ticketmaster IE
- The Ambassador is a relatively compact venue so sound is up close throughout
Getting There
The Ambassador sits on Parnell Square, a short walk north of O’Connell Street. The Luas Red Line stops at Parnell, which drops you practically at the door. Dublin Bus routes along O’Connell Street will also get you close. Parking is possible around Parnell Square and on side streets, but the city centre location makes public transport the easier call.
