Leinster GAA
The Leinster Senior Football Championship kicks off the weekend of April 11/12, and Dublin enter at the quarter-final stage. They’ll face the winners of the Carlow v Wicklow preliminary round. The venue is TBC but expect either Croke Park or Parnell Park.
What to Expect
Under the new championship format approved at Congress, the 2026 All-Ireland SFC features 16 teams in a modified double-elimination tournament. Provincial champions and runners-up are seeded and given home advantage in the knockout stage. That means every Leinster game matters more than ever for Dublin’s summer campaign.
Dublin are the dominant force in Leinster football and will be expected to progress, but championship football always throws up surprises. The atmosphere at the opening game of Dublin’s championship campaign is always electric.
The Leinster SFC final is on the weekend of May 16/17, with the All-Ireland final on July 26.
