Gaiety Theatre
Following sell-out tours of And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express, Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile comes to the Gaiety Theatre. Mark Hadfield stars as Hercule Poirot in the European premiere of a brand-new adaptation.
What to Expect
On board a luxurious cruise under the Egyptian sun, a couple’s idyllic honeymoon is cut short by a brutal murder. As secrets buried in the sands of time resurface, Poirot must untangle a web of lies, jealousy, and betrayal to find the killer.
Mark Hadfield brings Poirot to life with the precision and charm the character demands. He’s known for roles in Belfast, Outlander, and Wallander, and he’s got the gravitas and the moustache for the job. Director Lucy Bailey and writer Ken Ludwig have already proven they know how to stage Christie with their previous productions, and the Gaiety’s classic setting is perfect for a whodunit.
The run goes from April 21 to 25, with evening and matinee performances. It’s the kind of show where you spend the interval arguing about who did it.
