David San Clair EP Launch at The Grand Social
Get Tickets →
Rock, jazz, bluegrass, and indie fusion is the kind of genre description that suggests an artist who has decided not to limit themselves, which is usually interesting. David San Clair has been working the Dublin music circuit long enough to develop a sound that doesn’t fit a single shelf, and Pick Up Where We Left Off is the EP that captures it.
EP launches at The Grand Social have a good track record. The venue on Liffey Street Lower is one of the better live music rooms in Dublin 1 - a mid-sized venue with a proper stage, good sound, and a crowd that tends to be there for music rather than just the night out. The upstairs room in particular has the right intimacy for a launch show.
What to Expect
A full set from David San Clair presenting the new EP’s material alongside material from across his catalogue. The genre range - rock guitar, jazz harmony, bluegrass picking, indie sensibility - means the set moves around rather than settling into one mode, which keeps it interesting from start to finish.
EP launches are best when the artist has something to say about the work and this show has the energy of someone who’s been holding these songs for a while and is ready to share them.
