Singular Artists
David Keenan is unlike anyone else in Irish music. Part poet, part musician, part preacher, his live shows are intense, unpredictable, and deeply personal. The Sugar Club’s intimate cabaret setting is the perfect room for what he does.
What to Expect
Keenan’s performances are as much spoken word as they are music. He weaves stories, poems, and songs together in a way that feels improvised even when it isn’t. His voice is extraordinary, capable of shifting from a whisper to a howl, and the songs draw from Dundalk, from Dublin, from the Irish tradition and from somewhere entirely his own.
