Comedy Anseo: Bernard O'Shea and Special Guests
Get Tickets →
Anseo on Camden Street is one of those Dublin pubs that manages to be genuinely good at everything it does: the pints are right, the room has character, and Comedy Anseo on Wednesday nights has become one of the more reliable fixtures on the city’s comedy calendar.
Bernard O’Shea is the headliner for this one. O’Shea has been a constant presence on Irish comedy and television for over a decade - Republic of Telly, Bridget and Eamon, years of live touring - and he’s genuinely funny, the kind of comedian who works the room as much as he works his material.
What to Expect
Comedy Anseo runs every Wednesday and pulls from the circuit of Irish and international comedians working Dublin right now. The format is a few support acts followed by the headliner, in a room that’s small enough to feel like you’re part of the show rather than watching it from a distance.
Bernard O’Shea’s material tends to be observational, warm and self-deprecating - Irish life, family, the small absurdities that everyone recognises. It plays well in a pub setting where the audience is already in good form.
Camden Street on a Wednesday evening is a good place to start the second half of the week. Anseo has a full bar, the room fills up, and Comedy Anseo has earned its reputation by booking acts that earn their applause.
