Lords of Strut have been one of Ireland’s most distinctive physical theatre acts for over a decade. Cian Kinsella and Thomas Delaney built their reputation on shows that are genuinely hard to categorise: comedy, acrobatics, and storytelling pushed to an extreme that leaves audiences not quite sure whether to laugh or be amazed, and usually doing both.
CHOP is a new solo show from Cian Kinsella, written and performed by him at the Sean O’Casey Theatre. It’s aimed at teenage audiences, which means it’s designed to earn the attention of people who will immediately disengage if it’s not good enough.
What to Expect
Physical comedy and theatre in the Lords of Strut mode: high energy, technically demanding, and funny in ways that don’t rely on easy material. Kinsella is a trained performer with years of touring experience and the particular skill of making chaos look controlled. A show guaranteed to leave teenage audiences shouting for more is a real promise from someone with the track record to back it up.
The Sean O’Casey Theatre in Dublin’s north inner city is a community venue with a proper stage and seating. It’s the right size for this - close enough to the performer that you feel the energy rather than watching it from a distance.
