Brokencyde live in Dublin at The Sound House - debut Irish show

Brokencyde are a genuine curiosity in the history of American music. The Albuquerque, New Mexico duo arrived in the mid-2000s with a sound that mashed crunk hip-hop, screamo, and scene-era electronica in ways that critics hated and a devoted fanbase loved. Two decades on, the band is still at it, and for the first time they’re bringing the show to Ireland.

If you know Brokencyde, you know whether this is for you. If you don’t, the simplest description is: loud, layered, and designed to go absolutely off in a live venue.

What to Expect

This is Brokencyde’s debut Irish show, which means the crowd is going to be made up of long-time fans who’ve been waiting years for this and first-timers curious about the phenomenon. Debut shows at smaller venues tend to have a particular energy - the band knows they’re playing to people who made an effort to be there.

The Sound House on Eden Quay is a compact multi-level venue, which suits this kind of show well. Neon Empire open the night. The main set is expected to pull from across Brokencyde’s catalogue, from their earliest mixtapes through to more recent releases.

  • Doors at 7pm, show at 7:30pm
  • The Sound House has multiple bars across its floors
