Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash had one of the great love stories of the 20th century. Now it’s a musical, and it’s coming to Dublin. Created with the blessing of the Cash family and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, The Ballad of Johnny & June is the real deal.
What to Expect
This production takes you inside the soaring highs and shattering lows of a relationship that defined an era. From the stage to the road, through triumphs, heartbreak, and redemption, it’s told through the eyes of their son John Carter Cash. The score is packed with legendary hits: I Walk the Line, Ring of Fire, Hey Porter, Jackson, and I’ve Been Everywhere all feature.
Christopher Ryan Grant, who originated the role of Cash in the New York and Canadian premieres, reprises his acclaimed performance. He’s joined by Christina Bianco, known for her roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. The cast is strong, the direction is sharp, and the music is, well, it’s Johnny Cash. It doesn’t get much better.
The show runs from March 31 to April 11 with evening performances at 7:30pm and matinees at 2:30pm on select days. That’s almost two full weeks to catch it, so there’s no excuse.
