Kate Bush’s music has had a second life in recent years, and Army Dreamers have been central to keeping it alive in Ireland. This isn’t a karaoke tribute in costume. Army Dreamers are musicians who genuinely know the material: the strange time signatures, the layered harmonies, the theatrical delivery that made Bush one of the most original artists Britain ever produced.
Running Up That Hill, Wuthering Heights, Hounds of Love, Babooshka, The Whole Story catalogue. Lost Lane is one of the better rooms in Dublin for a night like this - intimate, good sound, the kind of space where the atmosphere builds quickly.
What to Expect
Kate Bush’s catalogue is demanding material for any tribute act. The songs span art pop, folk, chamber pop and full orchestral production. Army Dreamers take the songs seriously and the delivery is theatrical, matching the scale of the originals as closely as a live band can manage.
The crowd at an Army Dreamers show tends to skew older, but Running Up That Hill’s Stranger Things resurgence in 2022 brought in a younger wave of listeners who are now genuinely invested. You’ll likely get both in the room, which makes for a good night.
Lost Lane’s basement setting on Grafton Street adds something to the show - it’s the kind of room where a dedicated crowd fills the space and makes it feel like more than just a covers gig.
