A research seminar exploring the development of a shared campus biobank at the Trinity Translational Medicine Institute, hosted in the Durkan Lecture Theatre within the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences at St James’s Hospital.
Biobanks collect and store biological samples, tissue, blood, and related data for use in medical research. A shared campus model allows multiple research groups and institutions to access common infrastructure rather than each developing their own, which reduces duplication and increases the scale of sample collections available for any individual study. The development of such a biobank at the Trinity/St James’s campus has significant implications for the research capacity of both institutions.
What to expect
12:30pm Wednesday at the Durkan Lecture Theatre. The lunchtime format is typical for academic seminars of this kind: a presentation followed by discussion, aimed at researchers, clinicians, and administrators with a professional interest in the biobank’s development.
This is a specialist event for people working in biomedical research, clinical research, or healthcare administration. If that’s your context, the Eventbrite page has registration details.
