A 12-week Saturday art course starting in April is the kind of commitment that actually produces results. Short taster workshops are fine for finding out whether you like something. But twelve sessions means you build on what you’ve learned week to week, mistakes become lessons, and by July you’ve made something of the time.
This foundation course runs at 6 Anne Street South in Dublin 2, a short walk from Grafton Street. It’s aimed at adults who want to develop a proper grounding in the fundamentals: drawing, observation, composition, colour, and the habits of looking that separate people who make art from people who think about making art.
What to Expect
A structured programme taught over 12 Saturday sessions. Foundation courses at this level typically cover life drawing, still life, colour theory, mark-making, and compositional principles. You’ll work from observation rather than reference photos, which is the right way to build skills that last.
The Saturday noon slot makes this manageable alongside a full working week. You commit to one afternoon per week and by the end of the run you’ve done more than most people manage in years of occasional workshops.
